About Flutes Inspired
We all love playing the flute and want to aim as high as we can, but everyone - from anxious beginners through to seasoned professionals - can struggle at times with the daunting work of learning, practising, improving, and finally performing.
Receiving support in a friendly and welcoming environment from an expert teacher who really understands your needs as an adult learner and player can make all the difference on that journey. With Flutes Inspired my aim is to help you master your flute and grow in confidence as a player, while you have fun and share your love of flute with friends old and new.
Flutes Inspired flute courses are all about encouragement and inspiration, and players of every level are genuinely welcome. The atmosphere is always supportive and sociable, and with plenty of good food and conversation, it's a great place to find like-minded friends. Whatever your confidence level, you will return home at the end of a Flutes Inspired flute course full of new ideas to develop your playing.
As a professional flautist, I have been performing, teaching, and coaching ensembles in the UK and Australia for over twenty years. My passion is working with adult flute players, helping them to nurture and develop their skills, and I'm lucky enough to work alongside some fabulous visiting tutors who also share that vision. You can read more about my specialist work with adults in this article commissioned by the ABRSM for Libretto magazine (March 2014), and find out more about my work here.
On a Flutes Inspired flute course, you will learn through workshops, masterclasses, and group playing; and on a residential course you will also receive one-to-one coaching. I want to share my experience and my passion with you so that you can move to the next level on your own flute playing journey.
