ELISABETH HOBBS AND PAUL EDMUND-DAVIES
Flute Feast in France 2018
in Ay, Champagne
11-18 May and 20-26 May
FElisabeth and Paul are delighted to invite you to join them for the renowned Flute Feast in France. Next year's course will be held in the heart of Champagne in the beautiful and historic Grand Cru village of Ay, and this time we are offering a choice of two weeks to meet the demand for this unique event.
The Flute Feast in France is an intensive one week-course comprising individual lessons with Paul and Elisabeth, accompaniment and piano coaching with John Alley (formerly pianist with the LSO), workshops and technique classes, small and large ensemble playing, and performance opportunities, all combined with fine food and wine in an 18th century boutique hotel in the village of Ay. The emphasis is on developing each individual's flute playing in a warm, friendly and supportive environment, sharing fluting friendship as well as a taste for the finer things in life.
Previous participants have raved about the Flute Feast in France with Elisabeth and Paul, and places for 2018 are already very limited due to priority rebooking by previous participants. Flute Feasters will join Paul, Elisabeth, and John for six nights in the elegant boutique hotel of Castel Jeanson. In addition to a full schedule of flute playing activities and private lessons, participants will enjoy daily champagne tastings, flute and wine talks, and gourmet dining. There will be a visit to the caves of Champagne Deutz and Coutier, a meal in a Michelin-starred restaurant, and a tour of Reims cathedral with historical talk concluding with a brasserie meal in Reims and the spectacular Cathedral son et lumière. The course will again be supported by Powell Flutes who will join us with their instruments and expertise. Course members will also enjoy concerts by Paul, Elisabeth, and John, and will have the opportunity to perform in a final celebration concert. Elisabeth and Paul welcome players of all standards, from anxious novices through to experienced semi-professionals and teachers, and personally work with each participant to ensure the course is tailored to the needs of each individual.
The course fee of GBP£1895 (couples £2950) is fully inclusive of all tuition, concerts, accommodation, meals (including restaurant meals), champagne tastings, excursions, and transport during the course. Participants should arrange their own transport to Castel Jeanson and a large secure garage is provided, should you wish to drive and return home with a car full of champagne! Elisabeth and Paul's courses are internationally renowned and book out very quickly, so immediate application is recommended to ensure your place on this unique course. You can apply online here and secure your place with a £600 (£900 couples) deposit now, with the balance due in March 2018.
We are very excited to invite you to be a part of the Flute Feast experience and look forward to welcoming you!

Read what previous Flute Feasters have said about their experiences on a Flute Feast course with Paul and Elisabeth:
"Wonderful, completely inspirational. Everything felt very encouraging and supportive. I came away feeling that flute players are really lovely people!" (Fiona P.)
“I just wanted you to know that I think this course was the best, your organisation is faultless, the trips are delightful and of course the music tuition is of the highest order. Flute choir was really lovely and the choice of music was a great mix, both fun and a challenge to play.” (Sharron S.)
“I wanted to say thank you again for a truly special and unique week. It's been a long time since I've concentrated so hard on my flute playing. I loved every moment! Thanks to your support and encouragement, I have a renewed determination to improve my tone, technique and musicianship.” (Leena R.)
“Thank you for a truly fabulous week. The teaching was inspirational from you and Paul.” (Ann S.)
“The Flute Feast really was the course that keeps on giving! I am still reflecting on how much I gained from it. In addition to the musical aspects, it was a wonderful holiday in a beautiful place with excellent company and delicious food and wine. I learnt so much about interpreting my pieces, practising, performing, articulation and projection and also made new discoveries about flute making, head joints, lip plates choosing instruments and soldered tone holes. Now that a few weeks have passed, I want you to know that I have thought about the course every day and, when I play, I am trying hard to put all the advice into practice. We Feasters have all been in touch with each other, sharing our memories. Only yesterday I heard from Leena who also said that there hasn’t been a day when she hasn’t thought of France. You gave us so much of yourselves, your experience, advice and individual care in all our lessons, group work and performances and so many goodies including the presents of music and this lovely album which I shall treasure. Once again thank you so much.” (Mary W)
